Charles, the Uptown guy

Current felt project is Charles, once again from the Fanciful Felties book.

I have to cut out and embroider his jacket, add a backing, and stuff him.  I'll post the final when he is completed, which will hopefully be soon.  I'm planning on cutting up one of my husband's old shirts for the backing.

My version of Charles, so far.

This is the photo of him finished from the  book (I changed him a bit):

*I do not own this image, it is from Fanciful Felties by Samantha Cotterill

Last but not least, I dyed a bit of 100% wool felt for my Tardis project.  If you watch Dr. Who, then you know what the Tardis is.  I'm happy to say that dying wool with food coloring works out pretty well.

POLICE CALL BOX aka Tardis felt.

Sew Cute! (mushroom girl, babushka, marge)

My current obsession: Sewing cute things out of felt.  This week's projects included the following:

mushroom girl
Mushroom Girl

Babushka

marge2
Marge

Totally loving these!  I'll be making more this week.  Books used for these adorable friends are Felties and Fanciful Felties:

Mushroom Girl was changed into a larger version with more sparkly stuff (can you ever have too many sparkles?).  Babushka's embroidery design was changed, and Marge's colors were altered.  The wool felt for Marge was also hand-dyed by me...which was quite the adventure.  I'm planning on a Marge "reboot" within the next few weeks as I looked at my first attempt as the "practice."  I also want to change her colors up.

Some of the "stuff" I used in these projects:

My super favorite embroidery floss- DMC!

Best little scissors ever (Gingher 4" embroidery scissors):
